Plagues Of Egypt

The story of the plagues of Egypt is important to us today, because it shows us that God did not stop fighting for his people. Moses was most likely scared about going to the Pharaoh and telling him to let his people go time and time again.  Every time Pharaoh did not let the Israelite go, God hardened his heart. Each time Pharaoh refused to let the Israelite go, God delivered a punishment to Egypt alone, sparing the Israelite and their home in Goshen.

  1. The first plague was delivered the changing the Nile into blood.  The Pharaoh was warned but did not believe.

  2. The second plague occurred when Moses brought thousands of frogs come out of the Nile and flood Egypt.  Pharaoh tried to have his magicians perform act, but they could not.

  3. The third plague was the lice witch trapped the Egyptians in their homes.

  4. The fourth plague happened with flies which absolutely irritated the Egyptians (I know it would irritate me).

  5. The fifth plague was pestilence which made the  Egyptians sick to their stomach.  This also ended up killing their livestock.

  6. The sixth plague was boils.  This covered the Egyptian's whole body with painful, seeping open sores.

  7. The seventh plague was hail, but not just any hail.  It was the worst storm Egypt ever had.

  8. The eighth plague were the locusts that ate the crops and plants.

  9. The ninth plague was a darkness covering  the land of Egypt.

  10. The last plague was Pharaoh's least favorite, because his son died. The tenth plague consisted of the slaying of the first born child.  Whomever did not have sheep's' blood on their door  frame their first born child would die!
